What do you think the number of children entering the U.S. foster care every day is? Around 1,200. That means that every day, around 1,200 children are beginning a life filled with uncertainty and stigma. Together We Rise (TWR) is a nation-wide organization that fights this by trying to help youth experience a better foster care and encourage families to adopt.
When they started posting pictures of children just being adopted to Instagram and Facebook around two years ago, the response they got was incredible.
According to the organization, the pictures made thousands of people contact them saying they want to adopt or be a foster parent. Every day, people reach to TWR asking about the adoption process or how they can help children in foster care. Even thousands of photographers offered their free services to families adopting. Since the number of adoptions significantly increased, TWR posted an application for photographers interested in taking pictures of the newly adopted children. Over 5,000 professional photographers signed up on the first day, which is really amazing.
Take a look at some of the heartwarming photos below, and feel free to share yours if you’re one of the happy children who got adopted.
