So many of us still think of success as a pipe dream. We feel like we are stuck in the job, career, situation, etc., that we are in and there is no way out. We wonder if life will ever get better. It’s easier than you think to reach your goals but there are five traits that you must have to get there. They just happen to all start with the letter D.
First, we should define success. Success can be defined as the accomplishment of an aim or a purpose. With that, it could be money, health, relationships and or career. You set a goal, you work towards it, and you reach it, success. What does success mean to you? Is it simply having more money? Or maybe a better job? Whatever it means to you, there are a few things you must have in order to achieve them. Here are 5 of them.
How bad do you want what you want? On a scale of 1-10, 1 being not that much and 10 SO bad, where is your desire level? It should be at 10 or pretty darn close to it. Whatever your goal is, you want to feel it with every ounce of your being. If the desire isn’t there, the action won’t be there either.
See it, feel it, believe you can have it and know, without a shadow of a doubt that nothing is going to stop you from achieving it, no matter what is required of you to get there. Without determination, your goal will always be a pipe dream. How bad do you want it? What will you do and how far will you go to get it?
You must make the commitment to achieve your goal a priority. It will be necessary for you to carve out time in your schedule each day to work on it. If you don’t do this, it will end up on the back burner, again, and you will be no closer to your goal than you were last year. With anything in life, dedication to anything you want will bring your desire closer to you faster.
This is probably the most difficult for many of us. The discipline to, once we’ve made a plan, stick to it. Often, things get in our way. Some of us are easily distracted and steer off course because of these obstacles tossed in our path. Learn to dodge them and stay your course. Stay true to your mission and your goals. Always keep them in your vision.
It’s important to clearly define what it is you want, how bad you want it and all the steps you must take to achieve it. If your vision is muddy or wishy-washy, achieving your goals will be more difficult as you won’t know which direction to go. You need to know where, when, who, what and why. Be clear.
Whether you are looking for better health, in which case you would focus on your daily eating plan and a workout routine, or you want a better job or more career stability, you must see it, feel it, believe you can have it and work towards it.
A goal without a plan is just a wish. Many people find they hit rock bottom before they decide it’s time to turn their life around and start working towards all those dreams they have. Don’t wait that long. It’s a surefire way to achieve your goals but it can be messy sometimes, and not all of us are wired to handle that mess.
Any goal you have is attainable. Any goal. If you can see it and imagine it, you most certainly can have it. How bad do you want it? You must feel it, breathe it, live it with every part of your soul. When you have that much desire, you will get there faster. Trust, have faith and watch what happens.
