New research shows that eating just a handful of nuts per day provides immediate protection against heart disease. The regular intake would provide permanent protection. Research also shows a significant improvement in cholesterol levels and flexibility of blood vessels, which is vital for healthful blood flow, just 4 hours after people ate nuts or nut oil.
We should all be including walnuts in our diets because regular consumption protects against many types of cardiovascular disease due to their effect on serum cardiovascular risk factors.
And only by consuming a handful of walnuts or walnut oil for four days in a week you can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease
said Dr. Penny Kris Etherton, professor of nutrition at Penn State University in Pennsylvania. This study is the first of its kind to identify active constituents in walnuts that provide the greatest health benefits. And by eating a mere three tablespoons (51 g) of walnut oil can you improve the condition of your blood vessels in just 4 hours. The oil proved to be especially beneficial for the endothelial cells — the cells that line the blood vessels and play an important role in their flexibility.
Pretty amazing discovery isn’t it? The powerful medicinal properties of simple raw foods that we as humans are now re-discovering are SO mind-blowing. It sure does remind us of that time the FDA claimed walnuts were “drugs”.
Have you notice that the walnut looks more or less like the brain and the tomato as the heart and the bean like the kidney — the reason is that it is meant each one on his own especially for those organs.
